Dallas-area Rep. Receives Endorsement from Popular Predecessor, Local-Favorite Rep.

(Irving, TX)– Rep. Matt Rinaldi (HD-115) today announced he has received the endorsement of Former State Representative Jim Jackson. Jackson, the Former Dallas County Commissioner was first elected to the Texas House in 2004, before going on to win re-election three additional times before he announced he would not seek a fourth bid in 2012. A Carrollton native, Jackson is popular in the Metrocrest area of Dallas County for his long-time involvement in the community and in public service.

“I’m proud to have the endorsement of Rep. Jim Jackson, who served our district for 8 years as its State Representative and 30 years as its County Commissioner. Rep. Jackson’s legacy of good, honest government will be remembered for years to come, and I’m honored to have his support for re-election,” Rinaldi said.

Former Representative Jackson joins a long list of current and former Legislators to give Rinaldi their support for a third term in the Texas House.

Matt Rinaldi was first elected in 2014 with wide support from the grassroots, despite being outspent nearly seven to one in the GOP primary, and was re-elected in 2016. Rinaldi’s accomplishments include passing a measure, signed into law by Gov. Abbott, that is the strongest of its kind in the country, providing for the removal of local officials adopting sanctuary city policies and a budget amendment prohibiting taxpayer funding of abortion providers and their affiliates.

The general election will be on November 6, 2018.
